A project consisting of community inclusive happenings that will employ local culture makers including poets, artists, designers, musicians, dancers, actors, and clothiers. Performances are planned to occur on the first Saturday of every month at a variety of venues throughout the city. Performers and spectators alike will be presented with new ways of experiencing the various spaces, rituals, and cultures of Cincinnati.
The following list is composed of potential happenings I have planned to help organize:
Please feel encouraged to explore the work on my website. It is a testament to my dedication and understanding of art and art education. The video below, entitled The Architects, which I created in 2003, is the inspiration for Unusual Occurrences: A Cincinnati Happening Convention, and fuels desire to see such events happen on a larger more inclusive scale. For The Architects I asked two working architects in the city of Chicago to describe Frank Gehry's Pritzker Pavillion in Millennium Park via musical instruments. It was required that neither architect possessed any musical education, familiarity, or talent. To prescribe meaning to this gesture would be to diminish the experience of its weirdness in the world.
